Recovery Action Group Surrey (RAGS), formerly the Surrey Changing Futures Lived Experience and Recovery Organisation, is a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation (LERO) formed in 2021 as part of Surrey County Council's Changing Futures programme. The community is led by and for people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage including addiction, mental health challenges, homelessness, domestic abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system. RAGS is a member of CLERO (College of Lived Experience Recovery Organisations) and participated in the Lived Experience Charter, receiving recognition at the 2024 Charter Awards in Birmingham. The group operates within the Bridge the Gap trauma-informed outreach service delivered by ten local charities across Surrey, advocating for genuine co-production and employment of people with lived experience across health, social care, and voluntary sector services.
