Canada - Exciting news in the Canadian mental health space The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) and Peer Support Canada are launching a national initiative, made possible by a $100,000 donation from RBC Foundation, to increase access to peer support certification for BIPOC individuals across Canada. Peer support is most powerful when it reflects the lived realities of the people it serves. Yet systemic barriers continue to prevent many from racialized communities from accessing the training and certification they need to enter this field. This initiative will fund certification for 130 peer supporters and help build a mental health workforce that is more representative, culturally grounded, and accessible to all. Because better representation in care isn't just the right thing to do, it leads to better outcomes for everyone. Congratulations to CMHA National, Peer Support Canada, and RBC Foundation on this meaningful step forward.
