USA - A powerful opportunity for lived experience and peer support in New York City Community Access, a pioneer in supportive housing and social justice since 1974, is hiring a Peer Health Navigator for its Residential Crisis Support (“The Respite”) and Soteria-inspired Intensive Crisis Residence (ICR) programs in NYC 🧠 As a Peer Health Navigator, you’ll -Support guests in acute mental health crisis as they move back into their communities - Connect people to community resources, health care, supports, and opportunities that sustain recovery - Offer peer-led, voluntary, recovery-oriented support for up to 90 days post-discharge - Help build discharge plans focused on safety, wellness, and self-determination in a home-like, non-coercive environment 🧠 What stands out about Community Access - Deep commitment to human rights, social justice, and economic opportunity - Over 1,200 units of supportive housing and peer-driven programs across NYC - A workforce goal where at least 51% of employees have personal experience using mental health services - Strong encouragement for women, People of Color, LGBTQ+ applicants, and bilingual candidates 🧠 Ideal for you if you - Hold (or can obtain) New York State Peer Certification - Bring lived experience with mental health services and a passion for peer support - Value Soteria principles: “being with” people, validating experience, and believing in recovery - Role: Peer Health Navigator - Location: New York, NY - Salary: $27.80/hour
