UK - The team at Rethink Mental Illness is expanding their Gloucestershire Support After Suicide Service, a compassionate, peer-led initiative that provides real, human support to people affected by suicide. They’re inviting applications for a Suicide Bereavement Worker (Remote / Field-based, Part-time), a role for those guided by empathy, resilience, and lived experience. 🧠 In this role, you’ll - Offer person-centred emotional & practical support to individuals and families. - Walk alongside people through some of life’s most difficult moments — from inquests to community reconnection. - Advocate for clients and collaborate with local services to ensure whole-person care. - Strengthen community awareness around suicide bereavement and support accessibility. 🧠 You’ll thrive here if you - Bring lived experience of bereavement by suicide (3+ years elapsed). - Have emotional resilience and genuine compassion for others. - Hold an NVQ3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care. - Value trauma-informed, inclusive, and peer-driven approaches to care. Rethink is known for its inclusive, learning-focused culture, offering structured development, staff wellbeing support, flexible working, and networks for LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse, and ethnically diverse colleagues. If you’re someone who can hold space, foster hope, and help others rebuild after loss — this is meaningful work where lived experience truly matters.
