The University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) is seeking two dedicated Peer Support Workers to join their team at the Universitair Centrum Psychiatrie (UCP) 🧠 Your Role As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in shaping recovery-oriented care within their clinical mental health setting. You will bring your unique perspective as a former client or close relative to foster connection, equality, and support for individuals navigating their mental health journey This is an exciting opportunity to co-create your role within a multidisciplinary team while contributing to meaningful change for patients and professionals alike. 🧠 Your responsibilities include - Strengthening and embedding recovery-focused practices within the clinic - Providing individual and group support to clients during acute phases - Enhancing the expertise of care professionals through training and reflective sessions - Contributing to policy development, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives 🧠 Your Profile - You have personal experience with mental health challenges and recovery, either as a client or family member, and can reflect on and use this experience professionally - Ideally, you have prior experience working as a Peer Support Worker in a clinical mental health setting - You hold a bachelor’s degree as a certified Peer Support Worker, preferably complemented by an additional social care qualification - You are open-minded, collaborative, and able to work effectively with diverse teams and individuals - You thrive in a pioneering role and bring resilience and creativity to your work 🧠 Your Work Environment You will join one of two clinical inpatient departments at UCP: 1. Acute Admission Unit CDO (closed setting) 2. Psychosis Unit (open setting) The UCP is part of UMCG and combines top-tier patient care with cutting-edge research and education. With over 570 professionals working in multidisciplinary teams, UCP specializes in psychotic disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and complex psychiatric conditions.
